The video up top is just a preview of what things to come, what you should really check out is the heavy track below these words. That’s right, a dubstep remix of Boys Noize‘ famous “Kontakt Me.” If you thought it was never really possible, it is, and Sidney Looper has done it. The track is nearly perfect with the exception of a slightly “over dubbed” and low sounding almost  vomiting tune below the Boys Noize’ synth. The track could have been a bit higher quality, but those are just small grievances.

SOUND SPILL – CHRISPY MIX by Sound Spill

Mmm… Chrispy. So, what does it take to succeed in todays world of infested dubstep up and comers? Chrispy takes you on a tour of what might be the next best thing since Doorly and Bar 9. The remixes are solid to say the least, the production is consistent, there definitely aren’t any sound flaws per say. Chrispy uses Fl Studio all the way and is influenced by all the all riveting and powerful line of dubstep producer such as Reso, Nero and …like we said, Bar 9. Check out his myspace for more tracks, but for now listen to the 20 minute mix we did to showcase this passion that’s all the way from London.

So, is an excuse available for repetitive sounds and symphonies? Yes, the production is good, the variation… not so much. After listening song after song, it sounds like the vocals are only being switched up. So, how to fix that? … Well, if you load in each track into any DJ program, you quickly notice the tracks are: long, have repetitive structured waveforms and are all 70 BPM (Beats Per Minute). In other words, play around with the tempos, maybe try one in 130 or 140, throw the bass through effects, filters, tubes, whatever you can find. But don’t do one thing, and that’s lose the consistent sound and rhythm throughout all the remixes, leave the trademark in place… just throw different colored sparkles and see what happens.

Oh and by the way, he’s 18 and has been producing for only 2 years.

 Aztech – Mekka Mekka by Sound Spill

Aztech, the first single out of a new project called Mekka Mekka created by Brandon Sprouse of Smile.N.Pose and Colin Sims. Upon first listen, the production is obvious and smart, the tunes and symphonies mix well, the soft yet powerful kicks your ear drums loudly but softly. Everything correlates so well together and takes you back to what might have been an actual rave in the Aztec empire itself.

The chopped vocals give the tune a supreme feel, but could have panned through out to give the track a more spatial feel. The track is over four minutes, but seems much shorter, and you know what that means, it’s good. The track is also very well compressed to allow anyone to blast it at any volume possible.  After 4 listens, you realize the amount of detail that went in to this track, the theme, the tunes all serve a purpose. If that theme is kept consistent throughout Mekka Mekka’s productions, then something good might just happen.
